Angel’s Kiss GUI FEI HONEY HEAVILY CHARCOAL ROASTED OOLONG TEA
Aged Organic Oolong|150g|Dong Ding Tea Region, Lugu, Nantou, Taiwan
【Story】
In 1999, the devastating “921 Earthquake” struck central Taiwan, followed by Typhoon Toraji and massive landslides that swept through Lugu Township.
Tea farms were buried, lives were shaken — and yet, from destruction, a quiet seed of rebirth began to sprout.
Months later, in the untended, pesticide-free tea gardens, tiny leafhoppers known as Jacobiasca formosana appeared.
Their gentle bites, once considered pests, caused the tea leaves to ferment naturally, producing a delicate honey and ripe-fruit aroma.
Young tea farmers, refusing to bow to fate, revived the traditional Dong Ding heavy-fermentation method, crafting a tea that glowed with life — Yan-ya Tea, a forerunner of Taiwan’s famed Oriental Beauty.
It was a turning point — a moment when disaster transformed into the dawn of natural farming.
In the harmony between man and nature, Taiwan’s true spirit shines:
“In every crisis, there is opportunity.”
【Flavor】
Slowly charcoal-roasted to perfection, the tea brews into a clear amber liquor.
Each sip unfolds layers of floral honey, ripe fruit sweetness, and a deep, lingering Dong Ding aftertaste.
The tender leafhopper bites — the so-called Angel’s Kiss — breathe soul into the tea,
creating a rich symphony of fragrance and flavor that evolves with time.
Like peeling away the layers of an onion, the less restraint, the deeper the emotion —
the truer the beauty revealed within.
