A Taste of Sanxia's Heritage – Pride of Taiwan

Many first-time tasters liken Sanxia Biluochun to Japanese Sencha. While Sencha is typically steamed, Sanxia remains Taiwan's sole region producing pan-fired green tea. Sanxia Biluochun, crafted through pan-firing, showcases the unique artistry of local tea masters.

Handcrafted Pan-Firing: A Commitment to Excellence

Our tea master, with hands seasoned by four decades of tea frying, embodies this dedication. In our team, the pan-frying artisan holds a special role. Pan-firing involves heating freshly picked tea leaves in an iron wok immediately after harvest, bypassing withering and tossing stages. This direct heat halts oxidation, preserving the tea's freshness—a hallmark of green tea. The skill in this process imparts Biluochun's delicate and umami-rich flavor.

Natural Farming Reflecting Local Terroir

Our Sanxia Biluochun Green Tea is made from the "Qingxin Ganzai" cultivar, a small-leaf early-growing variety. Its leaves are oval, arc-shaped, slightly thick, soft, elastic, and glossy dark green. Young leaves exhibit a pale purplish-red hue, with medium-sized buds bearing fine hairs. Handpicked during spring and winter, the tender leaves are rich in sweet theanine and balanced with polyphenols and caffeine, delivering green tea's signature briskness. Hand-rolled Biluochun presents irregular strips with silvery tips, showcasing a vibrant spiral form.

Champion of Freshness and Umami

Upon brewing, it exudes a fresh floral fragrance. The liquor is a clear, light yellow-green, accompanied by subtle vegetal, mung bean, and seaweed notes, culminating in a crisp and mellow taste. The umami distinguishes Biluochun from oolong teas. Rich in catechins and beneficial compounds, it's a natural beauty-enhancing beverage, epitomizing Taiwanese green tea.

Biluochun's jade-green, clear infusion, refreshing sweetness, and gentle mung bean aroma earn it the moniker "Emerald of Teas." Harvested from March to May, its meticulous handpicking results in limited quantities of exceptional quality, cherished by tea enthusiasts.

As a non-fermented, pan-fired green tea, Sanxia Biluochun, made from the unique "Qingxin Ganzai" cultivar, boasts an elegant floral aroma and a sweet, lively palate, embodying both vivacity and grace.

Brewing Directions:

You can use any kind of tea pot, but clay tea pot suits much better.

The tea leaves come unrolled for full flavor.

Additional information

This is one of the traditional ways of brewing. Depending on individual gustatory preferences you can you can vary brewing time from 35s to 5 minutes.

You can also use the Taiwanese traditional way of brewing - spilling, using Gaiwan, and brewing for 3-5 seconds each time.

Please note that it is natural tea with a high content of active elements, including caffeine and minerals, and some unusual feelings could appear. In that case, we recommend decreasing the quantity of dry leaves and brewing time.
