TATAKA Grand Cru Alpine Oolong Tea: A Soulful Sip

Overview
Tataka is situated in the new tea area of Yushan at an altitude of approximately 2610 meters, characterized by significant temperature differences between morning and evening, fertile soil, and moderate rainfall, all complemented by swirling mists that create an exceptional natural environment.

Flavor Profile
The tea boasts an elegant and fragrant infusion, with a sweet and mellow taste that presents rich layers and a long-lasting aftertaste. It withstands multiple infusions, leaving a delightful aroma after drinking. Its liquor is bright golden and clear, lacking any roasted characteristics, offering a robust tea flavor that is smooth and soothing to the throat, with an excellent throat sensation without any bitterness.

A Treasure from Taiwan’s Highest Peak
Yushan, rising to 3952 meters, is Taiwan's highest peak and produces premium Yushan High Mountain Oolong tea. The term "Tataka" comes from the language of the Tsou indigenous people, meaning a vast and flat grassland. The small plateau terrain situated between Yushan in the east and Ali Mountain in the west makes Tataka an important research area for high-altitude vegetation in Taiwan.

Tataka Yushan Oolong Tea
This tea is harvested from the highest altitude in Taiwan, combining the refined flavor of alpine tea with the unique taste derived from Yushan, creating a luxurious tea experience.

High Altitude Characteristics
Due to its high elevation and northern latitude, Tataka's harvest begins significantly later than that of other oolong teas. At an altitude of 2610 meters, strong yet brief sunlight exposure in the morning produces intense flavor compounds, while the cool, mist-enshrouded afternoons facilitate the storage of these compounds by the plants.

Brewing

You can use any kind of tea pot, but clay tea pot suits much better.

Warm up the teapot with the boiling water, put 3 grams of tea, and pour a small amount of the boiling water into the tea and pour out, then pour 250 ml of boiling water and cover the tea pot for three minutes before serving.

Boiling temperature – 85-95°C (185-203°F). You can use this amount of tea 3 to 4 times.

The tea leaves come unrolled for full flavor.

Additional information

This is one of the traditional ways of brewing. Depending on individual gustatory preferences you can you can vary brewing time from 35s to 5 minutes.

You can also use the Taiwanese traditional way of brewing - spilling, using Gaiwan, and brewing for 3-5 seconds each time.

Please note that it is natural tea with a high content of active elements, including caffeine and minerals, and some unusual feelings could appear. In that case, we recommend decreasing the quantity of dry leaves and brewing time.
